‘Simply CBT – can an understanding of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy be helpful for any therapists ?’
Gill Garratt is a nationally accredited psychotherapist, who has given talks on popular topics in psychology worldwide. She has 20 years experience in the public and private sectors in the UK and internationally. She is a specialist in the application of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ) in settings such as the manufacturing industry, global financial organisations and the higher education sector, as well as in central UK government departments, prisons and even cruise ships.
She was Manager and Senior lecturer at a College Counselling Training Department for 6 years, where the course orientation was Person Centred. Gill spent a year working in California and experienced what is was like to access an Employee Assistance Programme of support. This sparked an interest in Stress management and when she returned to the U.K. and trained with Professor W.Dryden for three years gaining a Diploma in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy.
